CSA / Generali’s pre-existing medical conditions coverage Final Payment deadline is the date of the last payment prior to departure of the most expensive part of the trip, unless the main air arrangements are added last. You must insure 100% of your prepaid non-refundable trip costs, even if they were already paid.

The CSA / Generali Final Payment Deadline Wording

With the CSA Freestyle plans you can have coverage for pre-existing medical conditions as long as you purchase the insurance prior to or within 24 hours of final payment and meet other conditions. The key to understanding the coverage is the definition of the “Final Payment”. Read the following:

When you are trying to figure out what date is your final payment, the type of trip indicates when your final payment is made. The Final Payment is the last pre-paid payment (prior to departure) of the most expensive part of the trip, unless the main air arrangements are added last. “Main air arrangements” refer to air to/from the main destination vs. tickets for a side trip during the vacation.

Here’s what will not be considered a final payment: A last minute arrangement after final payment for the primary travel. i.e. – payment for a hotel or port excursion once the bulk of the travel is in place in an attempt to appear as a final payment. In other words, if you add on air, hotel, or other land arrangements, the final payment date is not extended.

For all kinds of trips, the Final Payment is the last pre-paid payment (prior to departure) of the most expensive part of the trip, unless the main air arrangements are added last. “Main air arrangements” refer to air to/from the main destination vs. tickets for a side trip during the vacation. Note: This may be prior to when you are scheduled to pay in full. If you add on air, hotel, or other land arrangements – the final payment date is not extended.
