Vickie<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hi Vickie,<\/p>\n<p>The short answer is &#8220;no, travel insurance plans will not give you 100% of you money back if there is a hurricane&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Having said that, depending on how a hurricane affects your trip determines if your trip cancellation travel insurance will give you any of your money back.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s possible to have a claim paid for a trip cancellation due to a hurricane. However, unless the hurricane was right at your cruise&#8217;s departure port, it&#8217;s more likely you will have a travel delay and fly to get caught up to your cruise. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are the coverages most likely to be triggered by a Hurricane:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Missed Connection en route to cruise or tour<\/strong> &#8211; you are delayed at least 3 hours and you miss a connecting flight<\/li>\n<li><strong>Travel Delay<\/strong> &#8211; you are delayed at least 5 &#8211; 12 hours (depending on the plan) and you have to stay overnight<\/li>\n<li><strong>Trip Cancellation<\/strong> &#8211; you have to completely cancel your trip. Bad weather cancellations require a 24 hour shut down of common carrier services.\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Trip Interruption<\/strong> &#8211; you are forced to evacuate and return home early from your trip<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Trip Cancellation \/ Interruption for bad weather is different from going to Cancun and having it rain the whole time.
