You Can Get Trip Insurance Past The Deadlines

by Steve Dasseos on November 16, 2010

I’m going to Europe in October 2011. We booked the Cruise early to take advantage of a special and put down $1000 on a $3000 cruise. I just learned that we needed to call you within 3 weeks of placing that deposit in order to take advantage of any trip insurance to cover the cost of the cruise 🙁 Oh well, lesson learned. We are getting ready to pay for the rest of the cruise this week, so the travel insurance came to mind and I thought I would run our plans by you. Marjorie

Hi Marjorie,

I didn’t hear your conversation from when you called, but the 21 day deadline refers to you covering pre-existing conditions, financial default and Cancel for any Reason coverage with the TravelSafe Classic Plus & Travel Insured Plus plans.

You can also get the CSA Freestyle & Freestyle Luxe plans as late as the day after your final payment to cover pre-existing conditions.

On the other hand, if you have no need for pre-existing conditions, financial default nor Cancel for any Reason coverage, then those deadlines don’t matter.

In other words, you can get any of our trip insurance plans until the day before you leave. And, some as late as the day you leave on your trip.

I hope this makes sense. If you want the right travel insurance advice, call us at 1-888-407-3854 and we'll help you figure it all out.
